May be a stupid question but.... what does the clan name "Optimus" have to do with the Reaper Logo? In fact, i'm typing on top of a reaper right now in the chat box.

I'm just wondering if there's a connection between the two. Other than that, the logo and ranks and stuff look great!

Hey Jester,

It has nothing to do with the word Optimus... We have an emblem with a reaper design on it, and that is where the whole reaper mascot got started. Though I think the idea is dying down a bit.

No connection Jester, we just thought it looked cool. Although... if you wanna get deep down into I guess you could say that because 'Optimus' is the latin word for 'good' you could say that we're so 'good' that we would slaughter all those that challenge us... and slaughter usually equals death.... which equals a reaper...

Oh cool. I thought that with all these pilot biography ideas and your interest in BP lore, I thought there'd be some thought into the reaper and stuff. But mascot is just fine with me

Well speaking of that, i've actually mentioned to Ares about changing it since Jester brought up the point of it not really having nothing to do with our clan. So I found something extremely simple, and might have something to do with our clan and our possible story.

Maybe you guys could be a clan that is resource-focused and looks to control the resource stations. In that case, you guys would "reap" the rewards of the BP world.

All they need is a color change... maybe something...white? (coughwhitepowercough). Was actually watching Hellboy a few weeks prior to posting them, which is why the thought came up.

Technically being Genides should go with a silver/blue/teal coloration, Genide power!

I'll just throw this out there, I know its not original or anything. We could just combine symbols that mean something and have one of our more artistic members create something unique for Optimus. For Instance:

A symbol representing strength: A lotus Flower represents strength in some cultures

A Symbol representing Creation: The hand of the created and creator is pretty cool.

A Symbol representing Unity: A simple Olive branch connected could tie it all together

There are all kinds of symbols we could use, the above are just examples.

I was thinking we could put the HANDS inside the OLIVE BRANCH and have the LOTUS FLOWER coming up from between the fingers.

I think we could tie it into our backstory and philosophy fairly easy.

Great ideas Omen. We'll all need to get together one day and discuss this; the reaper thing was just kinda thrown into the mix with great creation but very little thought.

I still kinda like the Reaper. Maybe we could still associate Reapers with the top Black Op'ist Squad.
You know like Delta Squad, Reaper Squad, etc...

I like the reaper as well, in fact my old user name used to be TwilightReaper, though I stopped using it thanks to the shiney vampire movies...(god I hate twilight). Anyways... again this is something that still needs to be discussed. We've talked about having different squads and squad names for each one so as to seperate everyone into their own unique unit, but there was alot of deliberation about it and nothing was really confirmed.

ZK posted something concerning this thought not to long ago, but Ares hasn't confirmed / changed anything yet.

Ahhh.. good to know. I will try to find and revive that thread, so we can start throwing out some more idea's.
