Excellent info about Rift

I found this Rift info guide this morning on the Rift forums...reminded me of the massive BP guide Rooster made for the BP community.

Anyway, since I have been following the development of Rift for some time, and have put forth Rift as a possible game for Optimus to explore, I thought I would post this information for everyone to read over:

The game is very ambitious, and one wonders if they are biting off more than they can chew...still, if they are able to deliver what they are promising, it should be quite the game.

I bit a Rift once.. strangest trip ever.

But for real I've been following this for about a year, here and there. It looks pretty good however I'm not sure if I can do another Fantasy MMO before playing another type.. but the dynamic world system and seemingly unlimited character ability customization seems neat. Also, I think I have a beta key.. but I had to grab my shovel and start wacking some Trion employee heads to see if the key is active or how it works since I never received an e-mail with instructions. Will wait and see, hope it's good!

Beta key?!? Dang, I am jealous...let me know if you get in...I would love to hear how it is!

Seems, at least by what I've read, that each person with an account created before 10/9/10 (I think) receives a "community beta" key. Basically puts you in the pool that they pull from when beta waves come and go.

My opinion? Dumbest thing ever. Why generate a key to confuse people instead of just sending them an invite when the time comes? Of course I have yet to receive a response from their support team, so we'll see exactly what it is and why it's there.

Ah yeah...i have that too...yeah it seemed a bit odd to me as well.
